Ticketing and Fares
Fare tables for each individual route are available to view or download on each Bus Timetable page on this website.
Child FaresInfants under 5 years travel free.Children aged between 5 and 15 years (inclusive) are charged at half the adult fare. Persons age 16 and over are charged the full adult fare.
Return FaresReturn adult and child fares are available for most journeys - please ask the driver when you board. These can only be used on the day of issue.
Weekly TicketsWeekly tickets are available for journeys on services 120 and 126 and can also be used on journeys operated by Compass Travel. Please ask the driver.
Explorer TicketsExplorer Tickets are no longer accepted or issued by Cuckmere Buses from 19 April 2015. They are replaced by the Discovery ticket (see below).
Discovery TicketsWe issue Discovery tickets - please ask the driver. These provide unlimited travel on most other operators' services throughout the area on the day of issue. There are three types of tickets, Adult (£9), Child (£7.20) and Family (£17.50). The family ticket can be purchased for up to five people travelling together - but there must be a minimum of one, or a maximum of two adults travelling.We also accept Discovery tickets issued by another operator for travel on the day of issue, on all of our normal bus services - but not on our Special Event Services. English National Concessionary Travel Scheme Passes (Bus passes)We accept these passes for free travel on all of our normal bus services after 9.30am and all day on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays. In addition they are also valid for travel on the pre-9.30am journeys on the Hailsham Town Bus services H1 and H3.For full details of the scheme, please see the leaflet issued by ESCC.
10-Journey tickets for the Hailsham Town BusThis scheme offers a discount for ten tickets purchased on the bus or with a voucher from the Hailsham Town Council Offices. This ticket is only valid on services H1, H2, H3 or H4.
Compass Travel service 126 ticketsWe accept return tickets issued by Compass Travel on service 126 (only) for return travel on the day of issue. We also accept Compass weekly tickets on this service and the 120.
Brighton & Hove Buses Adult NetworkSaver ticketsOn services 120, 125 and 126, we accept the paper and scratch-cards NetworkSaver Tickets issued by Brighton & Hove Buses and Compass Travel BUT ONLY within Seaford and Lewes towns. They are valid on the entire service 120 route and on service 126 in Seaford between Morrisons and Chyngton only. On service 125 they are valid ONLY between Lewes Bus Station and Lewes, Malling Down.NetworkSaver tickets are NOT valid for travel to and from Alfriston on any service and they are NOT valid on service 47, the Cuckmere Valley Ramblerbus. Please purchase a Discovery ticket for onward travel outside of Seaford and Lewes as they are accepted for all journeys on all our services (see above). We do NOT accept Child and Student, The Key smart card or M-tickets.
PLUSBUS ticketsWe accept Brighton, Seaford, Eastbourne and Polegate PLUSBUS tickets issued by the train companies for use in the travel zones designated in their areas. Please visit the relevant PLUSBUS webpage for the travel zone maps and area of validity.
Electronic Tickets, Mobile Phones and SmartcardsWe do not accept any tickets on smartcards or mobile phones issued by any other operators.Occasional and Special Event Services operated by Cuckmere BusesImportant: All of the tickets and passes listed above are NOT valid on the Special Event Services operated by Cuckmere Buses. The organisers of these events normally set the fare we charge and that is publicised in advance and on the bus.Our Special Event services include Charleston Festival Shuttles, Eastbourne Tennis Park & Ride, Bentley Wood Fair Shuttle, Middle Farm Apple Festival Shuttle, Alfriston Dickensian Evening Park & Ride.
