Service Updates

Normal services resumed

All of our services resumed their normal pre-COVID timetables from 12 April.

Please note that our Cuckmere Valley Ramblerbus service 47 is affected by the long term closure of Station Road, Berwick, and operates to a temporary timetable until further notice.

Service 196 unable to serve Stunts Green on 21st and 28th April.

Due to a road closure at Stunts Green, on 21st and 28th April service 196 is diverted between Cowbeech and West End, Herstmonceux where it resumes the normal route. We regret that we are unable to serve Stunts Green on these dates. The bus may run a few minutes late from Herstmonceux to Eastbourne.

Closure of Station Road, Berwick

The length of Station Road from Drusillas roundabout to the Common Lane junction is closed to allow for the complete rebuilding of Drusillas roundabout in connection with the A27 works. Our services are diverted via Common Lane during this long term closure and depart Berwick station up to 5 minutes earlier than shown in the timetables. Some journeys on services 25, 26 and 126 are not serving Berwick Station to avoid delays.

Roadworks at Polegate

Delays of about 20 minutes are likely on services 25 and 26 coming into Eastbourne. We do not know how long the roadworks are scheduled to take so these diversions are until further notice.

Services 25 and 26 towards Eastbourne are diverted to turn right from A27 onto A2270, left at the Horse and Groom into High Street, turn in the station approach road and resume normal service from the Polegate Station stop.

Service 25 towards Lewes and service 26 towards Seaford will travel to the Medical Centre stop (further up High Street) then turn at the mini roundabout at the Hailsham Road intersection (or turn via Albert Place, Albert Road and Victoria Road) return via High Street to Horse and Groom traffic lights, right onto A2270 then left onto A27 to regain normal route.

Berwick - Hailsham Town services are diverted until further notice due to long term roadworks on the section of A2270 from Cophall roundabout to the A27 intersection at The Thoroughbred. These journeys will divert away from the A27 and operate from Berwick to Upper Dicker, then past Michelham Priory and Arlington Road West, A22 then Diplocks OR south on A22 to the South Road junction and resume normal route.

Service 44 disruption at Stud Farm estate

Due to the road works on the A27 at Polegate, service 44 can no longer enter Stud Farm estate via Brown Jack Avenue. Instead it will enter the estate via Gainsborough Lane and then run via Hyperion Avenue, Sunstar Lane, Golden Millar Lane, Brown Jack Avenue and Bahram Road, leaving the estate via Gainsborough Lane.

Keeping you safe

We are only able to accommodate a maximum of 10 passengers on each bus in order to observe the current social distancing guidelines and we are also taking additional steps to protect drivers and passengers including enhanced cleaning.

Please assist our drivers in making conditions as safe as possible for everyone and if passenger numbers exceed the safe limit, we will endeavour to put additional buses onto routes if the number of volunteer drivers allows.

We regret that drivers are currently unable to assist passengers with their purchases until conditions become safe to do so.

We hope passengers will understand the difficult circumstances we continue to face.

Face coverings

We need your help to protect everyone on board. You must wear a face covering unless you are exempt. If you don't have your own a face covering we can provide you with one on the bus. Some passengers are exempt, including children aged under 11, disabled people and those with breathing difficulties. Further information can be found on the BBC website.

Whilst we will still accept cash payments, we urge passengers to use contactless payment wherever possible and to note that change will NOT be given.
