The Department for Transport has urged all bus operators to reduce their service in order to ensure that only essential journeys are being made. We plan to continue operating essential services during the period of Lockdown 3 but further changes have taken effect from Monday 18th January where necessary as shown below:
Services 26, 36/37, 38 & 49 remain suspended until further notice. Service 47 is seasonally suspended until March 2021 as usual.
Other services continue to operate as shown in the current status of all services.
We continue to monitor services frequently so that we are able to respond to the latest situation and updates will be posted here and on our Facebook pages.
Our hope and intention is to continue to provide a minimum of one return service per week to all of the places we currently serve and where driver resources allow to continue with as many services as we can do reliably.
We expect the length of Station Road from Drusillas roundabout to the Common Lane junction to be closed from Monday 18th January 2021 for 12 months to allow for the complete rebuilding of Drusillas roundabout in connection with the A27 works. Clearly, this will impact our services which will be diverted via Common Lane. To allow extra time for the diversion and likely congestion buses will depart Berwick station up to 5 minutes earlier and arrive about 5 minutes later than shown in the timetables.
Berwick - Hailsham Town services are diverted until further notice due to long term roadworks on the section of A2270 from Cophall roundabout to the A27 intersection at The Thoroughbred. These journeys will divert away from the A27 and operate from Berwick to Upper Dicker, then past Michelham Priory and Arlington Road West, A22 then Diplocks OR south on A22 to the South Road junction and resume normal route.
Due to the road works on the A27 at Polegate, service 44 can no longer enter Stud Farm estate via Brown Jack Avenue. Instead it will enter the estate via Gainsborough Lane and then run via Hyperion Avenue, Sunstar Lane, Golden Millar Lane, Brown Jack Avenue and Bahram Road, leaving the estate via Gainsborough Lane.

We are only able to accommodate a maximum of 10 passengers on each bus in order to observe the current social distancing guidelines and we are also taking additional steps to protect drivers and passengers including enhanced cleaning.
Please assist our drivers in making conditions as safe as possible for everyone and if passenger numbers exceed the safe limit, we will endeavour to put additional buses onto routes if the number of volunteer drivers allows.
We regret that drivers are currently unable to assist passengers with their purchases until conditions become safe to do so.
We hope passengers will understand the difficult circumstances we continue to face.
We need your help to protect everyone on board. You must wear a face covering unless you are exempt. If you don't have your own a face covering we can provide you with one on the bus. Some passengers are exempt, including children aged under 11, disabled people and those with breathing difficulties. Further information can be found on the BBC website.
Whilst we will still accept cash payments, we urge passengers to use contactless payment wherever possible and to note that change will NOT be given.
